Who Is Steven W. Anderson?
He is a Dad, learning evangelist, educator, speaker, author and is the Founder and CEO of Web20Classroom.
As a former classroom teacher and Director of Instructional Technology Steven is highly sought after for his expertise in educational technology integration and using social media for learning. As @web20classroom he regularly travels the country talking to schools and districts about the use of Social Media in the classroom and how they can better serve students through technology.
Steven has been a presenter and keynoter at several national and international educational conferences, including ISTE, ASCD, FETC, WISE, VSTE as well as numerous state and local conferences.
Steven is the author of 3 books: The Relelvant Educator: How Connectedness Empowers Learning, co-authored with his good friend and social media maven, Tom Whitby, The Tech-Savvy Administrator, part of the ASCD Arias series, and Content Curation: How To Avoid Information Overload, part of the Corwin Connected Educators Series.
He is also responsible in helping create #edchat, a weekly education discussion on Twitter that boasts over 500 weekly participants.
Steven has been recognized with the the 2009 and 2011 Edublogs, Twitterer of The Year Award, a "Top 50 Educational Innovators" award from the Center For Digital Education, a Microsoft Heros of Education award, along with a 2013 Bammy Award, recognized worldwide as the Educational Emmy, for his work with #edchat.
Steven has a Bachelors of Arts in Middle Grades Math and Science Education from Western Carolina University and a Master of Science in Instructional Technology from East Carolina University.
Who Is Shaelynn Farnsworth?
Shaelynn Farnsworth is a leader in the convergence between literacy and technology. She is the COO of Web20Classroom.
As High School teacher she redefined her English classroom as not only a place to learn about literature but also explore how technology is shaping the future of communications. She continues this exploration as a School Improvement Consultant for AEA 267 in Iowa. There her primary focus is on technology, literacy and authentic instruction, providing support to schools in Planning and Implementation of Initiatives, Data Collection, Professional Development, School Improvement Plans, and Walk-through development.
Shaelynn is a Google Certified Innovator and regularly provides professional development to educators around the country on the impact Google tools can have on student learning and instruction. Shaelynn is a Google Certified Innovator, AIW Lead Coach, and has training in PBL from the Buck Institute, Lucy Calkins Writing and Reading Workshop, Jim Knight Instructional Coaching and Dianne Sweeney Student-Centered Coaching, RTI, and 1 to 1 Implementation.
Shaelynn gives back to the education community by regularly presenting at the Iowa 1-to-1 Conference, the Iowa Technology Conference, FETC, BLC and other conferences around the country. She has been featured in T.H.E Journal, SmartBrief, US News, the NY Times Learning Network and other publications.
She has a Master’s Degree in English from the University of Northern Iowa along with a Bachelor’s of Liberal Arts Degree in Education with a minor in Coaching also from the University of Northern Iowa.
